SUAREZ leads the Reds!

A brighter day has come! Liverpool accomplished two very important things on Sundays match. Firstly they scored for the first time this season after 5 games Liverpool has finally scored a goal in the second half and it came from non-other then the foot of Liverpool star Luis Suarez. Another very important moment in the history of Liverpool also happened on Sunday, which was Liverpool’s 400th game in premier league history.

With Brendan Rodgers new line up since the introduction of Luis Suarez, it has been something that we haven’t seen from Liverpool in recent years but because they do now have the defending strength to carry out this formation. Using 3 defenders could be a bit difficult and at times something that not to many player feel comfortable playing with, Liverpool carried out this formation with ease. Having Jose Henerique driving the ball down the flank and being able to send either Suarez or Sturridge for goal it seemed evident that this formation would be the best formation for Liverpool having both star strikers in peek form.

In this game Suarez seemed to be more at ease and calm something strange to see it wasn’t typical Suarez fashion.

Sturridge opened up the scoring only after 28 minute followed by Suarez scoring his first priemer league goal and lifting up his shirt with a picture of his family saying Welcome Benja Los Amos (I Love you). The game throughout was very well contested and seemed Sunderland could score a goal at any moment. The half ended with a very frustrated look on Luis Suarez face, due to the fact his passing was not coming out like he would have hoped.

In the second half Sunderland scored a beauty of a goal from the Italian international Giaccherini. There was enough action throughout the game that you did not notice the time fly by only until there was a stop in the play and noticing the game was almost over and Lucas got a yellow and will miss his next game. Sunderland again had chances to get a second goal and tie the game. But the final nail in the coffin was driven in by the hammer of Suarez at the 89th minute which then lead to the game whistle and Liverpool back on top of the PL table and is now currently sitting in 2nd place.

Next game I am looking forward to the partnership of Suarez and Sturridge to continue to grow and develop and have a fantastic season!

The Reds 7 Returns!

The day is finally approaching where one of English premier league most talked about and has to be one of the most controversial players to ever play the game is coming back after a 10 match ban. For those who forgot why Luis Saurez got banned for 10 games it has a little to do with hunger and Ivanovic. All jokes aside and all the puns in the world can fill this blog with jokes but speaking about a players talent is what I really care about more then anything else.

Luis Suarez came to Liverpool from Ajax of Amsterdam in the later part of the season in 2011 and started off with a bang. Scoring at will and doing what he does best nutmeg players at will and using his class to get by defenders and making it look easy. Suarez last year could have been the player of the EPL as well as the top scorer but because of the ban he wasn’t able to play in the latter part of the season and the players below him were able to score more goals then he did.

Suarez is that type of player that you either love or hate but have to respect because of how talented he is. In recent years Suarez has been in the news for both great accomplishes as well things he would have rather of not done. Most recently his biting incident with Ivanovic and previously to that alleged racist comments to Patrice Evra.

Suarez is currently the king Pin of goals for Uruguay with 38 goals in 71 appearances, and still young and capable of playing for several years to come he can only continue to push the bar up higher in Uruguay.

Suarez will be returning on the 25th of September against a team he already has had bad blood with and can make a big impact against them if he stay cool headed and focuses on the task ahead. Suarez can only continue to get better and help Liverpool succeed in the future and take them to that glory which they always remember.
Hopefully as both as a fan of football and a fan of Suarez I can’t wait to see him play again and do what he does best.

Liverpool Review vs SouthHampton

After five games Liverpool has finally tasted defeat to the hands of SouthHampton. It was a will contested battle between the two English teams but one had to fall. Liverpool before this weekend was one of the few teams that were undefeated in the English primer league but not having Philippe Coutinho in the line up proved that it had caused Liverpool to lose that flashy touch that Coutinho is known for.

Liverpool did not let them selves be defeated easily the game throughout the 90 minute was highly contested by both sides. The first half much like the rest of the game Liverpool had the upper hand and possessed chances of scoring but it didn’t seem it was their day on Saturday. Right before the break Steven Gerrard sent an amazing cross toward the head of Daniel Sturridge but it hit off the cross bar and went out. Liverpool at the end of the game had 56% of the ball possession with 10 shots and 5 shots on target.

Daniel Sturridge scoring streak had also come to end on Saturday after 4 games scoring in each of the games. Daniel Sturridge has to be one of the more promising strikers this season both playing very well and as well contributing to his team success so far this year.

With Brendan Rodgers new line up facing SouthHampton  it seemed that they would have the upper hand as well as continue on their streak and get the win. But it didn’t turn out that way, that he thought but there is always next week as well as mid week game against Manchester United to make changes in the upcoming game in the Capital One Cup.

Why Liverpool FC!!!!

As a young lad growing up in North West England there are two main teams that are the most dominate in England which are Liverpool Fc and Manchester Utd these are also the teams that are the most successful in England.

But I did not grow up in England or even any where remotely close to England like we like to say in North America we are just across the pond. Growing up in Canada soccer or like Europeans and everyone around the world like to call it football it was difficult to get people to get to talk about what was going on in the world of football. Having to talk to people who either had no idea or were not willing to wake up at 7:45 am or even 9:00 am because of time difference to watch a 90-minute football game I on the other hand have always had a passion for both watching football and watching great team like Liverpool play.

Liverpool has to be one of my most favourite team in the English premier league being so successful in both in Europe and in England and with a rich history it can only make you love them even more.

Liverpool has always had great players in their roster and also a very exciting team to watch and this year are off on a great foot and currently in first place after 4 games.
