Liverpool Review vs SouthHampton

After five games Liverpool has finally tasted defeat to the hands of SouthHampton. It was a will contested battle between the two English teams but one had to fall. Liverpool before this weekend was one of the few teams that were undefeated in the English primer league but not having Philippe Coutinho in the line up proved that it had caused Liverpool to lose that flashy touch that Coutinho is known for.

Liverpool did not let them selves be defeated easily the game throughout the 90 minute was highly contested by both sides. The first half much like the rest of the game Liverpool had the upper hand and possessed chances of scoring but it didn’t seem it was their day on Saturday. Right before the break Steven Gerrard sent an amazing cross toward the head of Daniel Sturridge but it hit off the cross bar and went out. Liverpool at the end of the game had 56% of the ball possession with 10 shots and 5 shots on target.

Daniel Sturridge scoring streak had also come to end on Saturday after 4 games scoring in each of the games. Daniel Sturridge has to be one of the more promising strikers this season both playing very well and as well contributing to his team success so far this year.

With Brendan Rodgers new line up facing SouthHampton  it seemed that they would have the upper hand as well as continue on their streak and get the win. But it didn’t turn out that way, that he thought but there is always next week as well as mid week game against Manchester United to make changes in the upcoming game in the Capital One Cup.
